We the People of the PLANTs write this document to insure that our rights and freedoms are preserved and noted. Let this document serve as a guide to all the people of the PLANTs. Every one in the PLANTs will enjoy these rights, and have an obligation to uphold the laws that allow these rights and freedoms to exist. Let all the provinces of the PLANTs super state (Meaning states with in the PLANTs) unit and fight for these rights forever.
The PLANTs is one nation with all states inside acting as it's provinces, they may pass laws as they choice in their states, but they can not go to war or trade with other nations. The Council will decide those issue's. This is federal system, nations run their own provincial government meaning that they are not independent nations. Any nation may join the PLANTs but they must BE MADE AWARE THAT THEY ARE NO LONGER AN INDEPENDENT NATION. As a member nation you must have a ZAFT/PLANTs flag and a motto that fits with PLANTs beliefs. The military is controlled by ZAFT not the provinces. Once you enter the PLANTs you may not go to war on your own and all issues above the one's that you will encounter in your nation is left to discussion in the Council.
The people of the PLANTs may also enjoy the fundamental freedoms as well.
A) freedom of conscience and religion;
B) freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication;
C) freedom of peaceful assembly; and
D) freedom of association.
These rights and freedoms grants the election process is persevered in a fair and moral way. You have the right to vote for whoever you choose and need not worry of any persecution afterwords. There well be no avoiding elections, they MUST be held. A Chairperson can hold power for as long he/she continues to win elections.
A) Individuals of the PLANTs may vote for any candidate. In the spirit of freedom and justice, officials may not repremend those that voted against them and must respect their ideals.
B) Elected Officials cannot amend the constitution unless improving of civil rights or rewording. The constitution can be suspended in the event of drastic emergencies but requires a unanimous vote by the Supreme Council.
All citizens of the PLANTs are free to go anywhere at their own convenience.
A) Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of the person and the right not to be deprived thereof except in accordance with the principles of fundamental justice.
B) Everyone has the right not to be arbitrarily detained or imprisoned.
C) Everyone on arrest or detention has the right to be informed of the accused offense, legal representation and to proper, civil treatment. Everyone has the right to a fair trial.
D) NOBODY is above the law, no matter what their position.
Every individual is equal before and under the law and has the right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law without discrimination and, in particular, without discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age, mental or physical disability or genetic structure. However, this does not preclude any law, program or activity that has as its object the amelioration of conditions of disadvantaged individuals or groups including those that are disadvantaged because of race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age, mental or physical disability or genetic structure.
The people of the PLANTs have the right to defend themselves from themselves.
